Historical and other facts checkmate the Bible. Thinking checkmate means ‘check’, the faithful continue with an abstract: “You cannot know” about heaven and hell because you aren’t dead. The religious project that they cannot know, yet believe as certain, from a defeated source yet! They use indeterminable phrasing as a ‘gotcha’ over the logical application of fact, to avoid checkmate. This isn’t a defence, it’s a refusal to concede. Their argument doesn’t require intelligence or knowledge. Sitting in checkmate trying to continue, does however, prove how detrimental religion is to reason.
Believers trust science when it’s convenient, like boarding an airplane, having surgery, or what king their DNA is related to, but not when evidence a dead brain is the end of ALL perception checkmates their fantasy.
